Eligibility Criteria

To apply for YPDP, applicants should meet the following requirements:

Be nationals of OPEC Fund members mentioned above.
By the time of application, applicants must be 30 years old or younger.
Must have earned a Master’s degree from a respectable university.
Demonstrate excellent academic achievement.
Fluency in English is required; however, proficiency in one or more languages is preferred.
Have a minimum of three years of experience in the field.
Engineering, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, Law, Human Resources, and other related disciplines are specializations pertinent to the OPEC Fund’s operations.
Working in a worldwide and culturally diverse organization
Understanding the mandate of the OPEC Fund
Willingness to serve the OPEC Fund for a minimum of two years after completing the program if selected

Innovation: What insight or innovation differentiates the submitted solution from other existing ones?
Impact: How will the solution improve lives? How many people will benefit if successful, and to what extent?
Scalability: How easily will it be applicable nationally, locally, and globally?
Feasibility: Is the solution a well-developed and realistic plan to implement the solution? Does it financially sound?

The program consists of a Foundation Track and a Certificate program. Who can apply to MIT Emerging Talent?

The program is open to refugees, internally displaced persons, and individuals affected by forced migration globally. Priority is given to women, refugees, asylees, and internally displaced individuals. Some spots are available for low-income, first-generation learners.

Restrictions:

World Youth Alliance Certified Training Program (CTA) 2024

Applications are now being accepted for the World Youth Alliance Certified Training Program (CTP). The CTP aims to empower young individuals to effectively communicate and advocate for the dignity of the human person. It also provides them with the necessary language to engage the international community and broader culture on issues related to human dignity, human rights, and integral development. Our global network of certified members has significantly contributed to policy debates and spearheaded grassroots initiatives.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend 7 live training discussions and must complete short online quizzes after each session. Members who successfully complete the program will be eligible to apply for the WYA internship program, start a WYA Chapter, or join a National Committee leadership team.

Participation in the Certified Training Program requires a training fee of 20 USD. All payments are final and non-transferable. Limited slots are available, so complete the application form as soon as possible. This event is open to all WYA members under 31 years old.

The United Nations – Nippon Foundation Fellowship applications are open to international candidates for 2025. This fellowship program provides Government officials and mid-level professionals from developing countries with cutting-edge training on the law of the sea and ocean affairs. Phases of United Nations – Nippon Foundation Fellowship

The United Nations – Nippon Foundation Fellowship is a 9-month Program comprising two consecutive phases. Throughout these phases, Fellows will undertake advanced research and training opportunities in their chosen fields:

Phase One: 3 months of research and training at the UN Headquarters in New York, usually between mid-March to June 2025.
Phase Two: 6 months of Advanced Academic Research and Study, typically conducted between July and December 2025 at one of the participating Host Institutions and guided by subject matter expert(s) with acknowledged in-depth expertise in the Fellows’ selected field of study.

Fellowship Benefits

The United Nations – Nippon Foundation Fellowship will cover the following costs:

Stipend and Book Allowance

Fellows receive a monthly stipend throughout the Fellowship period.
The stipend covers lodging, board, local transport, and other essentials.
Rates are based on United Nations standards and vary by location.
A Book Allowance of US$100 per month is provided during the second phase.

Method of Payment

Fellows must open a local bank account upon arrival for stipend transfers.
The initial stipend was paid by check; subsequent payments were made via direct bank transfer.

Eligibility Criteria for United Nations – Nippon Foundation Fellowship

The fellow’s age must be between 25-40 years;
Applicants must have finished their first university degree successfully
Demonstrate the capability of undertaking independent advanced academic research and study
The candidate must be a mid-level professional from a national government organ of a developing country or other governmental or non-governmental agency in such a State. In such a case, applicants should deal directly with ocean affairs issues, and their position must allow them to assist their country now.
Propose a research and study program that must directly contribute to the formation or implementation of the law of the sea policies, ocean affairs, and programs in their home country;
Be free of all non-Fellowship obligations throughout their Fellowship period unless otherwise, the Division has authorized them;
A Government or other official who can confirm the nature of the applicant’s work concerning the Government’s ocean affairs should complete the Nomination and Recommendation Form.

Innovators are defined as creators of original ideas or products or those recognized for improving existing ideas or systems.

Proficiency in English for professional communication is required.

Applications are being accepted for the United Nations Reham al-Farra Memorial Journalism Fellowship. The Fellowship is an excellent opportunity for young (22–35) working journalists from developing and transitional economies to cover the United Nations.

The program, which takes place every autumn at UN Headquarters, brings together a selected group of journalists virtually/in New York to cover the opening of the General Assembly for their respective news outlets. The UN General Assembly Resolution 35/201 established the Reham Al-Farra Memorial Journalism Fellowship in December 1980. Formerly known as the DPI Training Program for Broadcasters and Journalists from Developing Countries, the program was renamed in 2003, honoring Reham Al-Farra, a 29-year-old Jordanian public information officer killed in the bombing of the UN headquarters in Baghdad on August 19, 2003.

Scholarship 2024

YYGS is able to provide a limited number of Scholarships, which are Need-Based Financial Aid packages that cover full tuition and travel.

There are only a limited number of scholarships available each year, the majority of students who apply for need-based financial aid obtain significant tuition discounts and subsequently fundraise to cover any extra fees (including all travel costs).

To be eligible for one of these scholarships (listed below), you must have completed the whole online YYGS Application, including the Need-Based Financial Aid section, by January 10, 2024.

Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) Alumni Scholarship: Selected students who completed the YYAS program in any summer previous to 2024 will be given Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) Alumni Scholarships. All of the 2024 YYGS sessions are free for students to attend, the scholarship also pays for their travel expenses.
Young Leaders (YL) Scholarship: Selected students in the United States and abroad who self-identify as at least ONE of the following will be given YL Scholarships:
- Black or African American (including Africa & the Caribbean)
- Hispanic or Latino/Latina/Latinx
- Members of Indigenous peoples, nations, &/or communities
- Refugees: A refugee is a person who has been forced to flee his or her home country due to persecution, war, or violence. A refugee is someone who is afraid of being persecuted because of their race, religion, nationality, political beliefs, or membership in a particular social group.
  - The YL scholarship pays for students’ full tuition and travel expenses to any of the YYGS sessions offered in 2024.

Eligibility Criteria of the Yale Young Global Scholars

All applicants should meet the following criteria:

Students from ALL nations are eligible to apply for need-based financial aid through YYGS, which accepts applications from ALL nations.
By the start of Session III on July 21, 2024, you must be at least 16 -18 years old.
Have the ability to engage in a demanding academic program conducted in English.
Be a current sophomore or junior in high school (or its international equivalent).
Be graduating in the Northern Hemisphere in May/June 2025 or 2026, or in the Southern Hemisphere in November/December 2024 or 2025.
Be a first-time participant in YYGS; you are not eligible to participate in YYGS 2024 if you participated in a YYGS session during a previous summer (2023 and earlier).
Please keep in mind that if you previously applied to YYGS but were not admitted or were unable to attend AND you meet the eligibility criteria outlined above, you are encouraged to reapply for YYGS 2024.

Evaluation Criteria

YYGS reviews all applications on a holistic base. Since students come from different backgrounds and with different educational and extracurricular activities, the essays and letters of recommendation are the most important portion of the application.

The primary aim of this United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) – Asia-Pacific Programme of Educational Innovation for Development (APEID) Meeting is to foster discussions, collaboration, and knowledge sharing in Entrepreneurship Education. The 9th UNESCO-APEID Meeting on Entrepreneurship Education emphasizes the importance of entrepreneurial skills for the future. Entrepreneurs should face challenges as positive chances and consistently develop ideas to provide job opportunities for themselves and others without being intimidated by AI or bots. The 9th UNESCO-APEID Meeting on Entrepreneurship Education’s primary objectives are as follows:

To refresh the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network (EE-Net) by applying initiatives and innovative strategies. The ultimate objective of this event is to foster a vibrant community of entrepreneurs and educators passionate about promoting entrepreneurship education in Asia-Pacific.
Despite all the challenges, collect and gather the stories of successful entrepreneurship during the pandemic. To develop a comprehensive plan for the EE-Net for 2024–2030. The project will consist of an action plan and various strategies to ensure the network’s success in achieving its objectives and contributing to education transformation—achieving all the SDG 4 targets by 2030.

Topics and Activities

The two-day meeting, as scheduled, will consist of five following topics. The primary aim is to develop practical and implementable plans and strategies for establishing entrepreneurial universities and TVET institutions.

A keynote presentation will deliver each topic, followed by a group discussion. The presenters will provide guiding questions for each subject. The talks will continue parallelly, meaning participants may participate in only one session. However, each group will summarize their discussion for the benefit of others during a plenary session.

Topic 1: Governance and Management.

Ways to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and culture in our institutions
How do you reflect entrepreneurial intent in the institution’s leadership, mission, and vision?
What are the implications of strategic planning, staffing, and budgeting?

Complementary Events

In addition to group and plenary discussions, the meeting will consist of a book launch and an exhibition area showcasing posters on the topic of Entrepreneurship Lessons from the Pandemic’.

The participants will also discuss implementing a commemorative project for former Gwang Jo Kim, UNESCO Director, honoring his contributions to entrepreneurship education. Also, the participants will talk on a guided tour of the Zhejiang University campus, highlighting its entrepreneurship education programs and activities.

Travel and Sponsorships

All participants are responsible for the cost of round-trip travel from their home country to China. Also, they should pay for their visa application.

The organizers will issue an invitation letter to support participants’ visa requests.

Local sponsorships may be available to some participants with limited numbers, which will cover accommodation, meals, and airport transfers.

Criteria for Selection of Participants

As the organizers receive a large number of applications for these meetings, they will consider three specific criteria for their selection of participants:

There is a need to ensure a fair distribution of participants across all countries.

Atlas Corps Selection Process

Atlas Corps applies different selection processes for the Virtual Leadership Institute with a shortened application and specific eligibility highlighted on particular web pages for each opportunity. Follow these steps to make an application:

Application and Selection Board Review: Applicants should register for an account and save their username and password to log in on the online application system to return to the login page. The application comprises a brief eligibility test. Host Organization Review and Interview for the Fellowship: Potential Host Organizations will invite Semi-Finalists that best match their positions for Skype video interviews, moving on to the Finalist stage. The Organization may ask for additional information from the Finalists, including sample assignments.
Selection for the Fellowship: Host Organizations will share their final recommendations with Atlas Corps to notify the selected applicants. After the selection process, Atlas Corps will help fellows with the necessary logistical arrangements for the Fellowship. For the online Blended and Remote Fellowship, Atlas Corps will help Fellows meet the technological capacity needed to complete Host Organization requirements. The U.S.-based component of the Blended Fellowship, the Atlas Corps, will support Fellows in applying for a J-1 visa in their respective countries.

Semi-Finalists that a Host Organization has not selected will get a notification and may have the choice to keep their application on file for the next class of the Fellowship.

The National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) accepts applications for Health Disparities Research Institute (HDRI). Participants of different nationalities can meet N.I.H. scientific staff working in health disparities research at NIMHD and across N.I.H. institutes and centers. The HDRI annual training program at the NIMHD includes lectures on health disparities research and minority health. Also, this program contains small group discussions, seminars, and mock grant reviews.

The main focus of the lecture and seminar is on the etiology of health disparities, research methods and measurement, research design, and intervention and implementation of research. The Human Rights Council Training Programme is a three-week course and runs on UNITAR ́s virtual learning platform.
