Opportunity Description

One Young World (OYW), in partnership with AstraZeneca, accepts applications for the Young Health Program Impact Fellowship 2024. The Young Health Programme Impact Fellowship empowers young leaders by providing opportunities for skill-building, networking, and scaling their impact. Fellows will attend the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montréal, Canada, gaining access to networks and development opportunities.

This Fellowship, powered by AstraZeneca’s Young Health Programme, aims to create a global health movement led by and for young people.

AstraZeneca invites you to join a global network of changemakers advocating positive change and seeking advocates in these areas:

  1. Improving health equity and access.
  2. Mitigating climate impact on health.
  3. Strengthening health systems and resilience.
About the Young Health Program (YHP)

AstraZeneca’s Young Health Programme (YHP) focuses on preventing common non-communicable diseases among young people aged 10 to 24 in vulnerable settings. The program combines community initiatives, research, and advocacy to empower young leaders and strengthen health systems.

Young Health Program Impact Fellowship Benefits

By participating in the Young Health Program Impact Fellowship, fellows will benefit from the following:

  • Full delegate access to the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montréal, Canada, from 18 – 21 September.
  • Return economy air travel from your home country to Montréal, arranged by the OYW delegate services team.
  • Shared hotel accommodation in Montréal from 17 to 22 September, arranged by the OYW delegate services team.
  • Catering including:
    • Dinner on 18 September
    • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner from 19-21 September
    • Breakfast on 22 September
  • Per diem of up to £48 per day for travel to Montréal and on the ‘pre’ and ‘post’ Summit days of 17, 18, and 22 September.
  • Reimbursement of the Canada visitor visa application fee of approximately CAD 110 (if applicable).
  • Return transfer from airport to hotel via public transport.
  • Access to AstraZeneca’s YHP Impact Fellowship, which includes:
    • Participation in an award-winning online mini-MBA program with University accreditation, 12 months of material access, and other opportunities.
    • Invitation to join the YHP Alumni Group and network with other young health leaders worldwide after attending the OYW Summit.

Young Health Program Impact Fellowship Requirements

Applicants who wish to apply for the Young Health Program Impact Fellowship must meet the following requirements:

  • Age requirement: 18 – 30 years old.
  • Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Nationals of all countries are eligible to apply for scholarships.
  • Ability to fully participate in person at the One Young World Summit (17-22 September 2024) in Montreal, Canada.
  • Willingness to contribute insights, co-create commitments to action, foster partnerships, and serve as ambassadors for AZ’s health equity and YHP work where appropriate.
  • Access to the internet and a device (computer, phone) for participation in live, online Fellowship sessions (not provided to Fellows).
  • Selected individuals are expected to fully participate in the YHP Impact Fellowship and One Young World Summit. Misrepresentation or inability to participate fully may jeopardize Fellowship benefits.
  • Delegates over 30 may apply, subject to demonstration of personal impact, initiative, and willingness to engage, at the selection committee’s discretion.
