Who can apply?
To be considered for the RTP Stipend Scholarship, applicants must meet the following core requirements:
- Admission: Must be accepted into an accredited Higher Degree Research (HDR) course of study at the University of New England.
- Study Load & Mode: International students must be enrolled as full-time, on-campus students for the duration of their candidature.
- Exclusivity: Must not be receiving an equivalent award or scholarship from the Commonwealth designed to offset HDR tuition fees.
- Academic Merit: Scholarships are highly competitive and awarded based on outstanding academic achievement and research experience/potential.
How to Apply
The application process differs slightly depending on your current enrollment status:
For New Candidates (Not yet enrolled):
- You must first apply for candidature (admission) via the UNE online application portal.
- Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to the Graduate Research School by 13 March 2026. This allows sufficient processing time before the scholarship round closes.
For Current/Continuing Candidates:
- If you hold a valid offer of admission or are currently enrolled, you can complete the online scholarship application form directly via the “Future Students” or “AskUNE” portals.
Important Dates:
- Expression of Interest (EOI) Deadline (New Applicants): 13 March 2026
- Official Scholarship Closing Date: 27 March 2026
- Referee Reports Due: No later than one week after the closing date. (Note: Applicants must provide two referee reports. Referees must submit these directly to the University using the official link provided).

Scholarship applications will only be accepted during round dates, therefore we encourage you to submit your EOI and complete the application for candidature prior to the scholarship round opening to allow sufficient processing time.
