About the workshop

Applications are now open for The World Academy of Science (TWAS) and TWAS Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Partner (TWAS-LACREP) regional workshop on science diplomacy. TWAS-LACREP which is hosted at the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, in cooperation with the São Paulo Innovation and Science Diplomacy School, is looking for candidates to take part in the regional workshop on science diplomacy for Latin America and the Caribbean region. Program structure

Innovation and Science Diplomacy School InnSciD SP + TWAS 2021 will deliver a comprehensive program that comprises of two parts:

  1. Science Diplomacy Concept and Introduction (4-6 August)
  2. In-depth Innovation and Science Diplomacy (9-13 August)

The first part mainly aims to build the capacity and foster networking of young scholars who have never been in touch with the topic of Science Diplomacy.

The second part focuses on all academic and professional backgrounds while heightening the conceptual and practical understanding by digging into special themes and usages relating to Innovation and Science Diplomacy.

  • This course is available to relevant applicants from all over the world.
  • Since 2019, it has been offered to scientists, diplomats and representatives of the private sector.
  • Those working at the intersection between science, technology, innovation and foreign policy are uniquely eligible for the program.
