Opportunity Description
The Future Scientist Exchange Program (FuSEP) 2026 at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) applications are open to international students. The FuSEP Summer Research Program is a six-week initiative designed to bring together outstanding young scientists from around the world. Hosted at USTC in Hefei, China, this program provides access to cutting-edge research laboratories, innovative projects, and top-tier mentorship from distinguished professors. Participants will engage in hands-on research while attending specialized lectures and cultural activities.
This program is ideal for undergraduate and graduate students with a strong academic background and a passion for research. In addition to scientific training, participants will explore China’s rich cultural heritage, visit industrial and research facilities, and build a global network of future scientific leaders.

Eligibility Criteria
Who can apply for this summer research program?
- Applicants must be a full-time registered undergraduate or graduate student at a recognized institution
- Must have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies before the program starts
- Strong academic record and research potential
- Proficiency in English to engage in research and program activities
Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following documents by the deadline:
- Latest academic transcript issued by the home university
- Personal statement detailing academic background and interest in the selected research project
- Resume (CV) highlighting academic and research achievements
- One recommendation letter from a professor or academic advisor
- Copy of passport data page
- Provisional Acceptance Form (only if the proposed supervisor is not listed on the official Project & Supervisor page)
