Eligibility Criteria

All candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants must be current or incoming full-time master’s or doctoral students at the University of Toronto.
  • They should have been asylum/refugee seekers within the last five years or have been impacted by changing political environments in their country of current or future study.
  • Demonstrated academic excellence as evidenced by transcripts and research potential.
  • Financial need is demonstrated through a financial need assessment form.
  • Commitment to enhancing the student experience through community involvement.

  • Personal Statement of Intent (maximum two pages).
  • Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions.
  • Curriculum vitae.

  • Completed SGS Financial Need Assessment Form.
