Benefits and Financial Aids

All selected fellows will benefit from this Fellowship as follows:

  • Salary: Approximately $103,202 per annum plus 17% superannuation (Level A Step 8)
  • Accommodation Allowance: $24,128 per annum in 2024 (subject to marginal tax rate)
  • Research and Travel Allowance: Up to $12,000 once-off for approved research-related expenses, overseas study, and conference travel
  • Relocation Allowance: Up to $10,000, including economy airfare to Perth
  • Additional Stipend: Contribution towards mentoring and ambassadorial duties within the Forrest Research Foundation community

Eligibility Criteria

All candidates must meet the following criteria to apply for the Forrest Research Foundation Fellowship:

  • Have their PhD conferred on or after January 1, 2022, or complete their PhD by December 31, 2024.
  • They intend to reside at Forrest Hall during the Fellowship (exemptions are possible).
  • To take up the Fellowship, awardees must:
    • Accept an employment contract at a Western Australian university.
    • Have their PhD conferred before starting the Fellowship.
    • Commence employment within 12 months of being awarded the Fellowship.
    • Report progress annually to the Forrest Research Foundation Director and the Minderoo Foundation.
