The University of Sussex offers Chancellor’s International Scholarships for Engineering and Informatics to outstanding students. Since the University offers limited awards, students must have exceptional academic achievements and potential, and the selection process is highly competitive.
Students who have gained excellent grades and an offer letter from the University of Sussex to study for an eligible bachelor’s or master’s degree in 2023 can apply for this opportunity.

Benefits of Chancellor’s International Scholarships
The Scholarship is available toward tuition fees with a total value of £5,000 per year of full-time study.
The successful candidates will be responsible for planning or raising sufficient funds to cover their degree’s remaining tuition fees and living costs.
Eligibility Criteria and Requirements
To qualify for these scholarships, candidates must:
- Applicants should maintain the “overseas student status” for fee purposes.
- Candidates must have acquired an offer of a place to study for an undergraduate degree at Sussex University, Engineering, and Informatics School in 2023.
- Possess excellent academic grades/high percentage.
- The Scholarship is open to applicants from different countries, including Afghanistan. Please check eligible countries in the drop-down menu of the official website linked under the Terms and Conditions.
- Applications evaluation is on a rolling basis, so those whose applications are not successful but considered a reserve may receive consideration for the next time.
The following applicants are not eligible for this Scholarship:
- Applicants applying for a bachelor’s at a university other than the University of Sussex
- Are in the final year of an integrated master’s at Sussex University.
- Applicants with another scholarship from the University of Sussex
- Have degrees in social work, if the applicant is receiving an NHS bursary.
- Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) courses
- Schools direct teaching courses
- Postgraduate diplomas
Required Documents
The scholarship application required documents is as follows:
- Personal details, including UCAS PID, name, and email address.
- Education details of students.
- A maximum 300-word supporting statement to answer the following:
- Candidates should describe their academic achievements to date.
- Applicant’s ambitions for the future.
- Why should the applicant receive this Scholarship?
- How will the Scholarship impact their time at the University of Sussex when they return home?
How to Apply for Chancellor’s International Scholarships?
To apply for the Chancellor’s International Scholarships, applicants must first receive and accept an offer of study for pursuing an eligible undergraduate program. After securing an unconditional offer, apply for the Scholarship. Eligible applicants should apply as early as possible.
