Founded in 1933, the Union for International Cancer Control’s last name was International Union Against Cancer or UICC, which operates as a non-governmental organization with about 1,180 member organizations in more than 170 countries. UICC’s headquarter in Geneva, Switzerland.

Union for International Cancer Control represents the world’s major cancer societies, patient groups, and ministries of health and includes influential policymakers, researchers, and cancer prevention and control experts. Every two years, the organization holds the world cancer congress; UICC works closely with international U.N. agencies.
