Benefits of the Monash University International Merit Scholarship

The following benefits are available for the academic year 2025:

• The scholarship value is $10,000 per year (total value equates to $50,000) and for the duration of students’ degrees, toward covering tuition fees and allowance.
• In addition, commencing undergraduate students will have the chance to apply for Monash Minds – a leadership program for first-year students.
• To renew the scholarship, students must maintain at least an average percentage of 70 each semester.
• Applicants should participate in at least three Marketing or Scholarship promotional activities to retain this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

• The applicant should be an international student.
• I plan to enroll in an undergraduate degree program at Monash University.
• Newly starting students must have received a Monash offer to study.
• Current students must have finished at least two semesters in Australia.
• Current students must have completed two semesters of studying for the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (Honours) course, or the (MD) Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine course must have completed a minimum of four.
• To study at Monash University, applicants must meet the English language requirements (TOEFL iBT 79, IELTS 6.5, Cambridge English Test (CAE and CPE) 176).

Selection Criteria for Monash University International Merit Scholarship

The selection process for these scholarships is highly competitive and based on academic excellence or achievements:

• Current students should have gained at least an average mark of 85
• The selection committee will consider the 500-word scholarship application statement and the applicant’s potential to be a Monash University ambassador.
• Please note that preference goes to commencing students.

How to Apply?

No separate application is required for the Monash University International Merit Scholarship. Students who receive an undergraduate course offer from Monash will automatically be considered.
