Maxwell King, Ph.D. Scholarship (MKS) has been named after Professor Maxwell King, who has made an exceptional contribution to graduate research at Monash University. This prestigious scholarship in Australia is open to support students pursuing a Ph.D. degree at the University of Monash.

Scholarship benefits:

The MKS scholarship covers all your expenses while staying in Australia. In particular, it provides the following benefits to selected candidates:

• Food costs
• Accommodation costs
• A living allowance of AUD $52,352 annually or $2,005.82 fortnightly
• A research allowance of $1,500 for international students
• A relocation allowance of $2,000 for international candidates 

Eligibility criteria:

Maxwell King, Ph.D. Scholarship is open to All Nationality holders across the world, including:

• An Australian citizen
• Australian permanent resident
• Australian humanitarian visa holder
• An International student

You must fulfill the following requirements:

• Have applied for a scholarship in the current year.
• Be conducting research in the fields of study and departments listed below;
• Meet the criteria for Monash’s competitive scholarship selection process; and
• Meet Monash’s requirements for English language proficiency. (IELTD 6.5, TOEFL Paper Based: 550+, TOEFL iBT: 79 +, Pearson Test: 58 +, Cambridge: 176 +)

Selection Criteria:

Monash University scholarships are highly competitive and are awarded based on candidates’ academic excellence, research achievements, and prior research experience.

Please note that the standard terms and conditions of the RTP Scholarship Procedures apply to successful MKS recipients, with the exceptions outlined in the eligibility criteria above.

How to Apply For Maxwell King, Ph.D. Scholarship? 

• Apply for graduate research scholarships when submitting your course application (unless already enrolled).
• One application covers both admission and scholarships; there is no need to specify the scholarship.
• Scholarships are awarded in the 31 October round; eligible applicants from Rounds 1-4 are considered.
