Opportunity Description

The scholarships mainly target those PhD level students who will complete their whole Doctorate or Double Doctorate at a Finnish university. Visiting PhD students and researchers are also eligible to apply for this opportunity if they are doing their PhD at some foreign university. Such applicants should provide a motivation letter from the hosting Finnish university department with exceptionally good grounds. Please note that the recipients of this scholarship cannot receive another full scholarship or salary with an EDUFI grant.

The EDUFI Fellowship program intends to increase mobility to Finland to support the internationalization of research and teaching. The Program also seeks to foster connections between Finnish and foreign universities.

The scholarship is specifically for foreign Ph.D. students or researchers who have an invitation letter to Finland or have not resided in Finland for more than one year when applying.
