Opportunity Description

The 2025/26 DAAD EPOS Scholarship application is open to study for a Master of Science in Tropical Hydrogeology and Environmental Engineering (TropHEE) at the Technical University of Darmstadt—University of Applied GeoScience in Germany.

Program Introduction

Master of Science (Tropical Hydrogeology and Environmental Engineering)  TropHEEis is offered to international students pursuing their master’s degree in Germany. The TropHEE Master of Science course focuses on applying geoscientific fundamentals to hydrogeology and environmental management issues, particularly sustainable development in tropical and subtropical countries. It offers a comprehensive, research-oriented education in Hydrogeology and Environmental Geosciences and Engineering at the Master’s level as part of the international development cooperation framework.

The study program includes different basic subjects, which are elective depending on the student’s undergraduate studies: geology, Rocks and Minerals, Hydrogeology, and Geo-Information Systems (GIS). A six-week field trip to a semiarid region for practical training and a project seminar is mandatory.

TU Darmstadt does not provide scholarships, so applicants who require financial aid should apply for scholarships from external sources such as the DAAD. The scholarship application process typically takes several months. TropHEE is also included in the DAAD scholarship program for postgraduate courses for developing countries (EPOS). Qualified applicants may apply for a limited number of scholarships.
