Opportunity Description

German Aerospace Center (DLR) and DAAD are organizing fellowship programs for doctoral studies, Postdoctoral and senior scientists to do extensive research in the following field of research:

  • Aeronautics
  • Space,
  • Transportation and
  • Energy

Scholarship/Fellowship details:

There are three types of funding for three different levels of programs:

  • Type A – Doctoral students : 3 years
    • For Doing the doctorate in Germany, it provides a monthly stipend of 1760 Euros
    • Materials allowance: 102 Euros to cover travel cost,
    • health insurance and
    • family allowance
  • Type B – Postdoctoral students: 6 -24 months
    • For doing research in Germany the fellowship provides:
      • 2400 Euros per month
      • Any other allowance
  • Type C- Senior Scientists: 1-3 months
    • For doing research in Germany senior scientists will get a monthly stipend of 2760 Euros and any other allowances.

Who can apply for the DLR Scholarship?

  • For Type A program student must have completed their studies or research with a university degree within last six years
  • For Type B program, postdoctoral must have completed their studies with a PhD not before 2015 (last two years)
  • For Type C program, the candidates need to be a Ph.D. holder and work in higher education or at a research institute.
  • Be national of a country other than Germany
  • Meet English language requirements (TOEFL IBT 79-95, IELTS 6.5-7.0, CAE, C1)

How to apply?

Applicants should apply online on DAAD portal and submit all the documents online. and the reference should be sent by post.

DAAD’s Head Office in Bonn will only request certified copies of the submitted documents in paper form if a grant is awarded!

  • Two reference letters from senior academics should be sent by post.
