Scholarship applications for the Ilia Calderon Scholarship to attend One Young World (OYW) Summit 2023 in Belfast, UK, are now open to international applicants.

After two years of the Ilia Calderon Scholarship success in 2021 and 2022, One Young World (OYW) has again partnered with the Jang Calderon Family Foundation. The partners provide scholarships to support young Afro-descendant or Indigenous leaders in the Caribbean and Latin America. The Ilia Calderon Scholarship will choose and pay 2 Afro-descendant or Indigenous leaders to travel to Belfast, UK to attend the One Young World Summit 2023. Usually, applicants should be between 18 and 30, leading innovative and impactful initiatives.

Benefits of the Ilia Calderon Scholarship

The Ilia Calderon Scholarship will cover the following costs and terms:

• Free entrance to the One Young World Summit 2023 in Belfast
• Visa fees (if applicable)
• Private rooms accommodation from 2 October to 5, 2023
• Economy class international round-trip transport to Belfast
• Domestic economy-class transportation to the airport
• Public transport between the Summit venue and accommodation in Belfast
• Meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, during the days of the event
• Translation service from English to Spanish in the plenary sessions, welcome ceremony, and closing.

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• The age limit is between 18 and 30 years.
• Have citizenship of the eligible countries listed above.
