Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Provide a proven track record of effective communication through various mediums.
  • Have experience in successfully delivering substantial initiatives or multidisciplinary programs.
  • Capability as a fundraiser with experience securing financial support from multiple
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and demonstrable leadership experience.

Fellow’s Responsibility

The Senior Research Fellow will play a crucial role in setting the strategic direction of the Sustainability Accelerator, overseeing multidisciplinary research, and building partnerships. Responsibilities include the following:

Strategy:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to identify trends and strategic issues shaping the Sustainability Accelerator’s research agenda.
  • Lead and develop partnerships for income generation and research projects.
  • Deliver new funding opportunities by crafting innovative research ideas grant applications, and fostering corporate relationships.
  • Advise the Executive Director on recruitment and resourcing for the Sustainability Accelerator’s goals.

Delivery:

  • Lead the design and delivery of new projects focusing on the intersection of innovation and environmental sustainability.
  • Author (and co-author when appropriate) concise, policy-relevant research and analysis.
  • Support Chatham House’s convening by curating high-level events on relevant issues.
  • Design engagement and research processes fostering trust and maximizing diversity of voices.
  • Identify opportunities to communicate project findings through seminars, workshops, publications, and engaging outputs.

People:

  • Ensure team members understand their roles and contributions to Chatham House’s wider goals.
  • Collaborate across Chatham House to integrate environmental and sustainability issues.
  • Establish and maintain relationships for the Sustainability Accelerator with experts, academia, businesses, governments, and non-profit organizations.
  • Maintain relationships with funders and key stakeholders, identifying engagement, partnership, and funding opportunities.
  • Deputize for the Executive Director as required.
