Opportunity Description

The Skoll Scholarship is a unique and competitive opportunity for individuals seeking to pursue an MBA at Oxford University. The focus is on individuals who pursue entrepreneurial solutions to tackle urgent environmental and social challenges. Therefore, enough fund is allocated to this to provide an opportunity for thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors to meet with each other. The scholarship is established to alleviate the burden associated with MBA programs, particularly for those who have chosen to work in a social innovation environment rather than the public sector or the commercial sector.

Eligibility:

You must fulfill the following requirements in order to be eligible for the Skoll Scholarship:

  • Have started a new social venture or initiative within an existing organization, or pursued positive change as an impact career professional (i.e. someone who has used entrepreneurial approaches to address the same social/environmental issue with a clear core thread that unites their work) for a minimum of three years before applying for the MBA;
  • Have displayed personal attributes that are significantly associated with entrepreneurial leadership;
  • Have shown how a business education will help you advance in your career.
  • Have proved a need for financial assistance.
  • Candidates are required to take the GMAT/GRE test for entry to Oxford Saïd’s MBA program. The MBA Admissions Team recommends candidates apply with a GMAT score of 650 or above. The recommendation for GRE scores is a verbal score of 160 and a quantitative score of 161.
  • For admission to Oxford Saïd’s MBA program, candidates must take the GMAT/GRE test. The MBA Admissions Team recommends that applicants have a GMAT score of 650 or higher. A verbal score of 160 and a quantitative score of 161 are recommended for GRE results.
  • Candidates whose first language is not English or who did not attend an English-speaking university must take the TOEFL or IELTS tests.
  • There are no age limits for applying for the Scholarship.

Expectation from Scholarship Recipient:

When a Skoll Scholarship is offered, the candidate will receive a letter of agreement outlining the expectations during and after the MBA.

  • Acting as Skoll Centre ambassadors
  • Assisting classmates with business projects, recruiting future Skoll Scholars
  • Participating on the Skoll Scholar Alumni Board
  • Responding to media inquiries is one example.

Application Procedure:

How to apply?

Follow these procedures to apply for the Skoll Scholarship:

  • Apply directly to Saïd Business School for the Oxford MBA during admissions stages 1, 2, 3, or 4. Include your completed responses to the Skoll Scholarship essay questions within your MBA application.
  • The MBA Admissions Team will evaluate your submission for admission. If you are accepted into the MBA program, your application will automatically be forwarded to the Skoll Scholarship Selection Committee for further consideration. Scholarship applications are reviewed following the corresponding MBA admissions stage, and you will be notified of your scholarship status shortly after MBA admission decisions are released.
  • If you are shortlisted, you will receive an email from the Skoll Centre detailing the next steps, including instructions to complete a Logistics and Reference Form. Final shortlisted applicants will be invited to participate in initial online interviews with the Skoll Scholarship Selection Committee. Successful candidates from this stage will proceed to a final online interview.
  • Only applicants who are accepted into the Oxford MBA program and submit their scholarship essays by the required deadlines will be considered for the award. Candidates who are admitted must pay a deposit to secure their place; however, deposit deadlines will be extended for those progressing through the Skoll Scholarship selection process. Applicants reaching the final shortlisting stage will receive the Logistics and Reference Form directly from the Skoll Centre. To continue in the process, you must hold an unconditional offer for the MBA program, as candidates with conditional offers will not be eligible for further scholarship consideration.

Deadlines & Timeline:

Apply directly to Saïd Business School for the Oxford MBA during stages 1, 2, 3, or 4 of the admissions process. Application deadlines are:

  • Stage 1: Monday 1 September 2025
  • Stage 2: Wednesday 1 October 2025
  • Stage 3: Monday 3 November 2025
  • Stage 4: Wednesday 7 January 2026
