Monash University in Australia offers Master of Commerce Scholarships (Sir John Monash Fee scholarships)  each year to outstanding international students, permanent residents, and humanitarian visa holders to pursue a Master of Commerce program in Australia. The scholarships are offered to both Australian and overseas students for the academic year of 2026/2027 and provide funding to cover students’ tuition fees and living allowance. Moreover, the program will prepare students for a Ph.D. degree or an academic career in the future by providing a thorough academic foundation, research skills, and expertise during the semesters.

About the master of Commerce (MCom)

The Master of Commerce (MCom) is a research-intensive program designed to prepare students for doctoral studies and a future in academia. As part of the Integrated PhD pathway, the MCom can be completed within one or two years, depending on the student’s area of specialisation and previous academic background. The program delivers advanced coursework tailored to each discipline, ensuring students develop a strong foundation in the theoretical and methodological competencies essential for undertaking original research.

Students who complete the MCom with outstanding academic performance and demonstrated research potential will be eligible to advance to the three-year PhD stage. This program serves as an ideal entry point for individuals aspiring to build a career in academic research and higher education.

Admission to the Integrated PhD program is highly competitive. All shortlisted candidates will be automatically considered for the Master of Commerce Scholarship.

Scholarship Benefits

The scholarship for the Master of Commerce at Monash University offers:

  • To renew the scholarship, students must maintain at least an Average weighted mark of 70 in each semester.

Eligibilities

  • International students or permanent Australian residents (foreign nationals) and humanitarian visa holders are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates must be enrolled or plan to enroll in a Master of Commerce Degree at the university.
