The Victoria University of Wellington Study Abroad Scholarship applications are open for international applicants in 2024. This program provides the students the opportunity to experience the New Zealand culture and education. Interested applicants should participate in marketing activities to promote Study Abroad and Exchange opportunities to students at Victoria University of Wellington. Consideration goes to experiences, attributes, backgrounds and academic achievements.

Eligibilities

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• International applicants who want to experience the New Zealand Culture
• Applicants should intend to enrol in the Study Abroad and Exchange program for at least one trimester at Victoria University of Wellington.
• Applicants should have applied to study abroad program at Victoria University of Wellington and hold an Offer.
• Provide a minimum GPA of 2.7 (out of 4).
• Start study in the trimester and year indicated in their Offer of Place letter.
• Applications from the following groups are welcomed:

1. 1. Students of indigenous and minority backgrounds
   2. Low-income and first-generation tertiary students
   3. Mature students
   4. LGBTQIA+ students
   5. Students living with disabilities

Required Documents

Applicants should prepare the following documents:

• Acceptance letter from the Victoria University
• CV
• Copy of Passport
• Provide a motivational letter for (what you think about staying and studying abroad experience in New Zealand will benefit you (personally, academically and professionally), and your excitement about the experience at Victoria University). Important notes about the motivational letter:
  • The motivational letter can be in the form of video or can be written
  • The written letter should be in the PDF or Word format about 300 words.
  • The motivational letter in the video format must not be longer than 2 minutes, firstly, upload your video on YouTube and submit the link on the online application form.

Selection Process

The applicants will be selected by the Assistant Vice-Chancellor international, Associate Director, International Business Development and Recruitment, Victoria International and the Regional Manager for North America, Victoria International (or nominees).
