Application for the seventh round of the SET is now being accepted by German Energy Agency (DENA). To be one of the top 15 energy start-ups in 2023, submit an application today! An international competition for start-ups worldwide that are working on concepts influencing the global energy transition and climate change is called the Start Up Energy Transition Award (SET).

More than 2,700 applications from more than 100 nations have been submitted for the prize over the past six years. Let this serve as evidence of the emergence of creativity in the global energy transition!

In order to promote renewable energy in 2023, the organizer is inviting creative, trailblazing start-ups to submit applications in the following five categories.

• Smart mobility and transportation
• Quality energy access
• Clean energy generation
• Demand-side innovation
• Energy distribution and storage

All participants:

• Inform and influence legislation to encourage innovation

Eligibility

• Organizations from all across the world are eligible to enter the tournament.
• Companies and startups from around the world that are making a positive impact on the energy transition with their products are eligible to apply for the SET Award.
• The start-up must have been established no more than ten years ago, or no later than the year 2010.
• The project that is being submitted must already be in production, be a finished good, or be a prototype.
• Companies are not allowed to engage with simply a concept and no actual actions.
• It is possible to take part in other startup initiatives and competitions.
• Each application is limited to one.
• Companies are not charged to participate.

Application Requirements:

• Filled completed the application form entirely.
• High-resolution corporate logo (300 dpi) as a.jpg or.png file for use in the competition materials and on the SET website.
• The applicant will provide further information on the business and the project (such as pictures, summaries, and videos) upon request from dena within seven business days if the application continues to the final round.

Application Procedure

• The application must be sent in English, together with any supplemental materials and pitch decks.
• The application must be able to demonstrate a proof of concept, a client, an industrial/business/institutional partner, and the start-up must be able to produce a working prototype, legal framework, and status.
• The application must be fully completed by the applicant. Applications that are just partially completed will not be accepted.
