Opportunity Description
The SDG Lab and Rethinking Economics will hold an essay competition for youth to share their thoughts on moving beyond GDP before to the meeting on April 17. On February 19, a webinar will introduce the competition and invite youth to consider the following query:
One of the most potent figures of our day is the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which is a measure of a nation’s economic activity. However, it has been applied inadvertently in various contexts, such as serving as a stand-in for development, prosperity, and well-being. In addition to improving decision-making in the interests of people and the environment, developing metrics to supplement GDP has the potential to drastically alter our objectives for the future. What ideals and tenets should be included in a framework to evaluate what matters beyond GDP, and what issues should be given top priority?
