Opportunity Description
KDI School of Public Policy and Management accepts applications for the Master of Public and Development Policy and Public Management. International students who wish to pursue their Master’s degree in Korea are eligible to apply for admission for fall 2023. The Fall semester will begin in early September, and students should arrive by the end of August 2023.
The Korea Development Institute (KDI School) and other external organizations provide scholarship opportunities for students to complete their Master’s degree program. The school will consider all applicants for the scholarship program who meet the academic degree criteria and select KDIS Scholarship when submitting their online applications.

Scholarships Title with Benefits at KDI School
The Korea Development Institute (KDI School) and other external organizations provide scholarship opportunities for students to complete their Master’s degree program. The school will consider all applicants for the scholarship program who meet the academic degree criteria and select KDIS Scholarship when submitting their online applications. Please review the scholarships’ highlights as follows:
KDIS Scholarship:
- Global Ambassador Scholarship (GAS): GAS is a fully funded scholarship program for students of ODA recipient nations on the OECD DAC List and a partial program for non-ODA recipient countries.

- GAS duration for master students is about one year, three semesters.
- Seoul G20 Leaders Scholarship:
- Full free tuition
- Monthly Payment
- Round-trip travel expenses
- Available for spring and fall admission
- GAS duration for master students is about one year, three semesters.
- Eligibility for Seoul G20 Scholarship:
- Non-G20 Countries applicants must have six years of experience in public sector or as the division head.
- G20 Countries applicants must currently be working in a public sector for over a year
Other External Scholarships:
- KDI School’s partner institutions nominated or recommended applicants are eligible for scholarships at KDI. Such applicants must select “KDIS Scholarship” when creating an online application.

Requirements for Master of Public and Development Policy and Public Management
Applicants should meet the following eligibility criteria for the Master of Public and Development Policy and Public Management at KDI School:
- Applicants for a Master’s degree should meet one of the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree of a minimum of three years from an accredited university or college
- Educational achievement equivalent to a minimum 3-year Bachelor’s degree by law.
- Should not hold dual citizens or Korean citizenship
- Graduates of a master’s or Ph.D. level at KDI School cannot receive the scholarship for another Master’s degree at KDI School.
- Previous KDI School Scholarship recipients are not eligible for a scholarship for KDI School’s Master’s program.
- If the applicant’s parents are foreign nationals (one Korean and another country citizenship) must provide a birth certificate with their parent’s passport as proof.
- Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree
- Other certificates or degrees equivalent to a bachelor’s degree can be accepted
- Employment Certificate for the mentioned period in scholarship details above
Required Documents
International applicants who meet the above requirement should prepare and upload the following application documents to apply for the Master of Public and Development Policy and Public Management:
- Application Form
- Online Survey
- Authenticated Bachelor’s degree certificate with transcript
- In two online recommendation letters, applicants should press the Recommendation Letter Request” button to send a request for recommenders.
- Language proficiency certificates, including TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, OPIC, PTE Academic, Cambridge English Exams, TEPS, NEW TEPS, TEPS-S, and I-TEPS score report taken within the last two years and must be original.
- Proof of employment indicates the period, position or job title, and organization’s category; moreover, the applicant’s HR officer must sign the verification lett
- Copy of passport
- Photo with 35×45 mm in JPG only with a size limit of less than 3MB
- Link of YouTube Video Essay (Optional)
- Statement of purpose
- Birth certificate of applicants and both parents’ passports (if applicable)
Important Admission Notes:
- Applicants should choose only one program
- Apply online before the deadline
- Accepted students should send all required documents (Original documents in hard copies) via POST at the admission office of KDI school before the deadline mentioned above.
- Applicants should type all documents in English, and none English documents must have English translations.
- Candidates’ documents must be verified by their institution, government authorities, any embassy, or Korean embassy or notary public, with an official seal or signature
- Applicants from Pakistan should prepare an IELTS Score to receive a visa.
