KDI School of Public Policy and Management has announced its Fall 2025 Scholarship Program for international students to pursue their Master’s degrees in Public Policy, Development Policy, and Public Management. These scholarships are designed to support outstanding students from around the world who demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to contributing to public policy and management.

Scholarship Benefits

The following scholarships are offered at KDI:

  • KDIS Scholarship:
    • Full tuition waiver
    • Monthly stipend (minimum KRW 1,000,000)
    • Does not include airfare or dormitory costs
  • Global Ambassador Scholarship:
    • Available for nationals from ODA recipient nations (OECD DAC List)
    • Partial scholarships may be available for non-ODA recipients
  • Seoul G20 Global Leaders Scholarship:
    • For nationals of G20 countries (excluding South Korea)
    • Full tuition waiver and stipend (conditions apply)
  • External Scholarships:
    • Awarded through nomination by external institutions (e.g., Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation Scholarship)

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should meet the following criteria to apply for KDI scholarship:

 

  • hold a Bachelor’s degree (minimum 3 years) or equivalent. Expected graduates from Korean or Japanese universities may apply with a Certificate of Expected Graduation.
  • Have English Proficiency with Minimum scores required:TOEIC750, TOEFL (IBT)72, IELTS: 6.0, Duolingo100. Exemptions for graduates from English-speaking countries (e.g., USA, UK, Canada, Australia).
  • Applicants must not have previously received a Korean government scholarship for a Master’s or Doctoral degree.
  • Dual citizenship holders (with Korean nationality) are not eligible.

How to apply?

  1. Step 1: Sign up and create an online application via the KDIS Application Portal (https://apply.kdischool.ac.kr/).
  2. Step 2: Fill in all required information and upload necessary documents (see below).
  3. Step 3: Submit two online recommendation letters through the application system.
  4. Step 4: Complete the online survey and submit the application before the deadline.
  5. Step 5: Attend the online interview (if shortlisted).

Required Documents

Prepare and submit the following documents and materials:

  1. Online Application Form: Include all academic history and records (excluding primary/secondary education) and Ensure all information matches your passport.
  2. Statement of Purpose (SOP): Must be original; AI-generated SOPs (e.g., ChatGPT) are not allowed.
  3. Passport-Sized Photo: 35x45mm, JPG format, less than 3MB.
  4. Copy of Passport:Valid until at least August 2026 (December 2026 for IBK scholarship).
  5. English Proficiency Test Score Report: Original score report (scanned copy).
  6. Official Diploma or Graduation Certificate: Must be apostilled or consular-verified (for non-English documents).
  7. Official Transcripts: Full academic records from undergraduate (and graduate, if applicable) institutions.
  8. Employment Verification (if applicable): For applicants with professional experience.
  9. Birth Certificate and Parents’ Passports (if applicable): For foreign nationals of Korean descent.
Additional Notes
  • Apostille/Consular Legalization: Graduation certificates must be apostilled or consular-verified by the Korean Embassy. This is mandatory for all accepted students.
  • Deadline: All documents must be submitted by July 1, 2025. Late submissions will result in withdrawal of the admission offer.
  • No Deferrals: Admission and scholarships cannot be deferred under any circumstances.
