About the University and Program

Maastricht University (UM) established in January 9, 1976 in Holland due to the requirement for medical faculty in the country. Now it has six faculties of arts and social sciences, faculty of Health, medicine and life sciences, faculty of law, faculty of Psychology and neuroscience, faculty of science and engineering and School of business and economics .

The university offers 24 fully funded scholarships of 29,000 Euros annually for outstanding talented applicants from outside European Union.

Scholarship coverage:

The scholarship provides 29,000 Euros that includes:

  • Pre-academic training cost of about 695 Euros
  • Tuition fee waiver (13,000, 15000, or 17,500 Euros based on the program you apply)
  • Monthly stipend
  • Living allowance of 12,350 euros for one year program and 23,750 Euros for two year program
  • Health insurance of 520 Euros
  • Visa expenses of 192 Euros

 

There are two types of scholarship included in the scholarship program:

  • High Potential scholarship: funded by Maastricht University
  • Holland scholarship: funded by Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science in relation with Dutch Universities.

 

Who can apply to this scholarship?

  • Be a national of a Non-EU Country
  • Fulfill the visa and residency requirements in the Netherlands
  • Applied to a full-time master degree program at the Maastricht University and met the entry and admission requirement and get a conditional admission offer
  • Be 35 years old or younger by September 1, 2019
  • Have obtained good marks and academic result during the previous academic degree
  • Applicant who applied to degree program in Netherlands are not eligible to apply

 

How to apply?

Eligible applicants are requested to follow the steps below in order to apply for this scholarship:

  • Apply to one of the available master degree program at MU and receive the student ID number of Masstricht University after applying via Studielink website. (pay the application fee by February 1, 2019 if the program you apply requires)
  • Fill and submit the scholarship application form only one time.

Required documents for Maastricht University Scholarship

  • CV (not more than 2 A4 pages )
  • Motivation letter (1 A4 page ): describe the importance of this scholarship to you, what you should be one of the selected student, and your role as an ambassador of Maastricht University
  • Academic excellence proof: University degree transcripts indicating your GPA or class ranking or a signed letter by the institution head of department describing that the applicant is one of the top 20 student in the class.
  • Submit One referee contact details
  • Ask the referee to submit his/her reference letter to the email: scholarship@maastrichtuniveristy.nl before the deadline

The selected applicant will be among top 5% of the scholarship applicants that will be notified in April 2019
