About the fellowship
TWAS, in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank, offers a short-term postdoctoral fellowship for early-career women scientists from 21 IsDB Least Developed Member Countries (LDMC). The fellowship will provide a monthly allowance, living expenses, traveling costs to allow the applicants to undertake postdoctoral research in science relevant to sustainability science areas. Interested applicants with a Ph.D. degree can apply for this fully-funded opportunity.

Eligibilities:
- Applicants must have obtained a PhD degree in a field relevant to the research area of the fellowship.
- The age limit for this short research program is up to 45 years.
- Applicants must have at least five years of professional work experience.
- Applicant’s host institute must be in one of the developing countries as per the list below.
- Must receive an acceptance letter from the host institute.
- Must be working in her home country at the time of the application.
- Applicants must be from one of the following countries:
[Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad, Comoros, Djibouti, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Niger, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Togo, Uganda, Yemen].
Regulations:
- Successful applicants must not hold another assignment during the fellowship program.
- Present a research plan with her host supervisor’s agreement at the host institution.
- Ability to cover the family member’s expenses.
- Applicants must be autonomous for visa application, health, insurance, and house rent in the host country.
