Opportunity Description
The University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) offers a research internship program for graduate students and third- or fourth-year undergraduate students. Participants will gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge research projects while working in state-of-the-art labs under the guidance of USTC professors.
The program provides opportunities to strengthen research skills, build academic connections, and enhance prospects for admission to USTC’s Master’s, Ph.D., or postdoctoral programs. Interns can also apply for free Chinese language and culture classes to explore the local Hui culture.
Internships last from 3 to 12 months, with tuition fees and accommodation costs applicable. However, USTC also offers scholarships (Levels A, B, and C) that may include tuition waivers, insurance, free dormitory housing, and monthly stipends.
Applications are open twice a year: from January 1 to March 31 for the fall semester and from July 1 to September 30 for the spring semester. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens, aged 18–40, enrolled in an undergraduate, Master’s, or doctoral program, and in good health with strong English proficiency.
Eligible students should first contact a USTC professor for pre-acceptance before submitting the online application.
