The United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) and the University of Peace (UPEACE) have jointly organized this LL.M. Applications are now open for this program.

The Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Transnational Crime and Justice is intended for young professionals and university graduates aspiring to specialize in international law, including peace and conflicts, transnational crimes and transitional justice, humanitarian law, international criminal law and procedure, and international human rights law.

Depending on each student’s background and preferences, the program can lead to careers in legal and political areas both nationally and internationally and to further academic studies.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Hold a 3-year university degree from an internationally renowned university in Law, Political Science, Criminology, Social Sciences, International Relations, or equivalent academic subjects.
• Open to professionals and university graduates worldwide.
• No specific gender restrictions were mentioned.
• Candidates with a background or interest in international law, peace and conflict studies, human rights, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
• Complete proficiency in written and spoken English. Please remember that a good knowledge of English is necessary.

Selection process

UNICRI and UPEACE select successful applicants according to the following information:

• Selection is carried out on a rolling basis.
• Applicants are notified of the results via email within seven working days of application submission.
• Accepted candidates must confirm acceptance within four days and complete payment within ten days.
• Wait-listed applicants will be informed of the outcome starting from 2 September.

• A motivation letter is a personal statement illustrating your interest in this program and indicating any relevant experience. It should be written in English and no more than one page long.
• Curriculum Vitae in English
• A scanned passport copy showing only the personal information and photo page(s).
• Official English certificate, if available
• A certified copy of the Bachelor’s(or higher) diploma(s) in its original language issued by the relevant University is necessary.
• If the original document (s) is not in English, an official attested translation of the above diploma(s)and transcript (s) into English is required.
• An attested copy of the university transcript(s) of records of all the university studies completed or underway in the original language issued by the competent University (ies).
• Italian Embassies may request any other documents to issue a study visa.
