Selection Process and Criteria

Following are the details of the application judging process and criteria.
The Judging Process:

  • Academic (Early-stage): This category is for projects typically led by K12 educators and academics in higher education. Projects here are usually in the research-proposal stage, not yet implemented in schools or universities, and lacking research funding.
  • Academic (Mature): This category also includes projects from K12 and higher education but at a more advanced stage. These projects have received research funding, undergone publication and citation, or been successfully implemented in educational institutions.
  • Venture (Early-stage): Applicants in this category come from EdTech companies, education startups, social enterprises, and education foundations. However, they do not own companies that have undergone an IPO, received substantial revenue or funding, or reached late-stage project development milestones.
  • Venture (Mature): This category includes applicants from large, established EdTech companies, prominent education foundations, and leading social enterprises. Projects here have a sizable user base, significant growth, and high levels of revenue and funding.

When applying for the Reimagine Education Awards, you must fill in sections detailing your project, which the judges will evaluate. The judging criteria vary based on the following:

  • The project’s stage of development
  • ‘Academic’ or ‘Venture’ classification of the project
  • Whether you’re applying for specific award categories
