Selection process

An international jury of independent experts will review submissions considering the following criteria:

1. Relevance to pluralism:

An outstanding contribution to pluralism must be reflected in the nomination. The Centre regards pluralism as an ethic of respect for human differences. Pluralism is a positive response to diversity, rooted in mutual acknowledgment and respect. Every individual must feel respected as an equal and contributing member of society.

2. Impact:

Determining impact in the sphere of pluralism is a complicated task. When measuring impact, the Award stresses on the direct results of an individual’s or organization’s activities. So, nominees must exhibit that their achievements:

  • Have obviously promoted pluralism.
  • Have considerably boosted the inclusion of diverse individuals or groups in the economy, society, culture, politics, health services, education sector, and so forth.
  • Enjoy a high probability of long-term sustainability.

3. Authenticity

Consequently, nominees must show, either by their institution’s policies or individual efforts, that they have made an extraordinary and continued commitment to the inclusion of diverse individuals.

Particularly,

  • Nominations from organizations must have equality and diversity and inclusion reflected in their human resource policies and in the combination of their staff, membership, and activities.
  • Nominees applying individually must determine that they have defended and underpinned pluralism principles in their professional and personal lives.
