Golden Hat 2019 invites creative talents from all over the world to submit one or multiplied cartoons (max 5) that has a humorous portrayal of someone or something. For example, it can be a caricature of a person or a picture of a funny situation. One entry can be one single image or in shape of a short comic strip.

• There is no specific theme to this, you can choose your own theme
• You have to own the rights of the work, and by submitting you are passing that right to the program for 2 years.  (for advertisement and display)
• The submissions should be original and any issues regarding plagiarism is the responsibility of the applicant.

Regulations:

• Max 5 submissions per applicant
• Either black and white or color
• Must not have any text
• It can also be created digitally
• Must not be folded (packaged flat)
• Submissions will not be accepted if framed, working under glass or in other materials
• Must not have be shown any other award show.

• € 1,000 – Bronze Hat
• € 5,00 – Audience Award
• Your work will be published in a cartoon book in collaboration with “Davidsfonds” Leuven

Specifications of submissions:

• Digital Entries:
  • 2480 x 3500 pixels (A4 300dpi).
  • Formats to use: pdf, jpeg, eps, tif or psd
• Non-digital entries
  • Should be sent by post
  • Dimensions min. 21 x 30 cm or max. 30 x 42 cm
  • Entrants last name, name and address should be written on the back of each
• You entry is valid only if you have received the complete application form from the program.
• The non-digital entries are submitted at the expense of the applicant.
• The submissions will be trimmed with a passe-partout (for the exhibition)
