Opportunity Description
Applications are open for the Johns Hopkins University Gender Equity and GBV Fellowship, a year-long, part-time program designed for practitioners, professionals, and scholars working on gender equity and gender-based violence (GBV), particularly in low- and middle-income settings. The fellowship, hosted by the Center for Global Women’s Health and Gender Equity (CGWHGE), provides sponsored mentorship, select coursework, and a cohort-based experience to enhance skills in evidence generation, synthesis, analysis, and translation for impactful gender equity work.
Fellows engage in virtual activities throughout the year, with select in-person cohort gatherings for networking and professional development. Participants complete a mini-project—such as secondary data analysis or evidence synthesis—focused on gender equity or GBV, with guidance and support from CGWHGE faculty. The estimated time commitment is 10 hours per week on average, up to 20 hours per week during coursework, plus travel for in-person convenings.
Ideal candidates include program evaluators, community researchers, practitioners, and PhD students in low- or middle-income contexts, who have some experience in gender equity or GBV and seek to strengthen their skills to enhance the impact of their work and advance their careers. All fellowship activities are conducted in English.
