Eligibility Criteria for Master of Public Health (MPH)

Applicants must meet these criteria:

  • Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of full-time, post-baccalaureate, health-related work experience or a doctoral degree in a field related to public health.
  • Waivers for Medical Students: The requirement is waived for U.S. medical students with two years of curriculum or for international medical school graduates.
  • Academic Background: Completion of one math course, one introductory general biology course, and one health-related science or a second biology course.
  • Quantitative Skills: Strong academic record emphasizing quantitative skills demonstrated in transcripts or optional standardized test scores (GRE, MCAT, GMAT, LSAT).
  • Public Health Goals: A clear understanding of how public health relates to professional career goals outlined in the Statement of Purpose.
  • Recommendation Letters: Three letters of recommendation, with at least one professional and one academic preferred.
  • Standardized Tests for MPH/MBA: GRE or GMAT required for MPH/MBA applicants, with possible waivers for qualified candidates with 3+ years of experience and a 3.0+ GPA.
  • International Students: Additional application requirements apply.
  • Course Credit Transfer: Up to 16 non-degree credits can be applied towards the MPH degree if completed within five years of enrollment.
