  • Paid medical, maternity, and parental leave

Eligibilities

  • International students meeting the conditions of the award and basic eligibility requirements outlined in the Commonwealth Scholarship Guidelines (research) are eligible.

  • In addition to the above, applicants must meet academic requirements for eligibility for an HDR program.
  • Candidates should also meet English language requirements to be able to study at an Australian university.

The scholarship awarding process is a highly competitive ranking process, so candidates will be chosen based on evidence of merit-based selection criteria, and subject to endorsement by a qualified supervisor, space and resources being available, in a research area that is in alignment with ANU’s research strategy.

How to apply?

Applicants should choose a research degree program, complete their admission application for an HDR program, and select this scholarship on the admission application form.

There is no separate application for applying to this scholarship, as all eligible students will be considered.

But, those students currently studying at the university should fill in and return the “Request for a Current ANU Student to be considered for an HDR Scholarship” to their academic college.

Note: Applicants are highly encouraged to make contact with a potential supervisor before starting their program and application to discuss research topics and relevant matters.
