Opportunity Description

The United World Colleges (UWC) Kenya Short Course 2020, which is going to be held in August 2020 in Kenya for 14 days looking for facilitators to manage and develop the course material. The facilitators must be able to manage, organize with more than 50 motivated, young, engaged, and with different backgrounds. Everyone from every part of the world with a range of work experience, educational background, perspective on narrative, and able to involve the participants can take part.

United World College (WUC):

the United World College, which launched by 18 schools from around the world, is an educational movement and aims “to make education a force to unite the different people, nations, cultures to bring peace and suitability.” Today, UWC provides some courses for 1 to 3 weeks in different countries to increase access to the movement.

Eligibilities:

  • Applicant’s age must be 18 years by August 1st, 2020
  • Be able to participate from beginning to the end of the program.
  • Must have excellent knowledge of English
  • Be stimulated to drive a team of teenagers aged 16 to 19 for the entire duration of the program.
  • Must be interested, willing, and open-minded to work in a group.
  • Must be committed to social justice.
  • Faith in the mission and philosophy of the course.

Desired work experiences applicants could bring:  

  • Have work experience in social work or youth engagements.
  • Worked as a facilitator or in one or more than of the areas below:
  • Program development, welfare, fundraising, media, and logistics.

    • UWC Short Courses are diverse environments comprised of young people from a range of backgrounds, be it geographically, socioeconomically, ideologically, or culturally. What will bring to contribute to the short course community? About 200 words
    • Do you have experience working in a small team (< 20 people)? About 200 words
    • Recommend an experiential learning activity or workshop that you would be interested in facilitating. About 100 words
