Fellowship overview

Application for the Orygen Global Youth Mental Health Advocacy Fellowship is now open. It is a six-month online program for 10 young people from all over the world who demonstrate a passion for youth mental health and want to make a change in the mental health landscape of their country.

The fellowship is aimed at building the capacity, skills and voices of young people to create positive change in mental health awareness, policy and systems reform. If you are a young person interested in this, do take this opportunity.

Time involvement: 8-10 hours per month; varying from month to month but regular attendance is required.

Fellowship content

It is composed of five modes of learning:

  1. Education and training modules
  2. Mentoring
  3. Peer support
  4. Contact with bests in global youth mental health
  5. Contribution

Eligibilities

Young individuals are eligible for the fellowship if they:

  • are at the age 17-30-years (at the time of application);
  • self-identify as having lived experience of the mental problem personally or through family members or friends, or have a specific interest or skill in youth mental health;
  • Are from any corner of the world. The organizer especially welcomes applications  from individuals in low and middle- income countries;
  • you are able to challenge and propose suggestions for inventing and implementing various projects;
  • have an obviously defined problem relating to youth mental health they wish to solve, a feasible advocacy idea as to how you might approach it and the background and motivation necessary to go forward; and
  • They have the consent of their parent/guardian to participate in the fellowship should they be under 18 years old.

Note: The lived experience of mental problem is welcome but not mandatory. If you participate, you will be in control of how and to what degree you wish to share your personal story; Orygen Global will provide you tools to make this decision safely and strategically.
