The Department of Population Health, University of Bristol offers a master program (MSc in Healthcare Ethics and Law) to both highly deserving UK and international students to study in Britain for 2021-22 A.Y. Program structure

This program is designed to be a research project with several research components and training provided during the whole period of the program.

Given the qualifications already earned and the nature of the project to be carried out, students may receive additional training on:

  • Research methods in bioethics
  • Health care ethics theory
  • Health care law

The school will also provide additional training through research seminars and supervisor meetings.

Eligibilities

Applicants from a wide range of backgrounds can apply. To be eligible for this program, prospective applicants should:

  • Hold an upper second-class Honours (or international equivalent) degree in a relevant subject such as philosophy/ethics, law, social science, theology, health care or a lower second-class honor degree or international equivalent with a master’s degree in a subject related to the proposed research topic.
  • Have identified two potential supervisors who agree to supervise and support their research project.
  • Meet proficiency in English if English is not their first language to undertake the program.
  • Those who have studied their previous level in English or are from English-speaking countries are exempt from providing proficiency proofs.

Evaluation

As the university receives a large number of applications for a limited acceptance capacity, the process is highly completive and applicants are shortlisted on the basis of their academic qualifications, research proposal, and personal statement.
