Are you interested in learning about budgeting and financial planning within a global organization? Have you enrolled in a degree program related to finance? If so, the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), Austria, offers internships to help young professionals from any country gain valuable experience in budgeting and planning activities.
This opportunity is for individuals pursuing degrees in finance, economics, or related fields and young professionals looking to transition into these areas.
The internship aims to assist the Budget and Planning Unit in daily operations and contribute to budgeting and planning activities. The intern will collaborate with the team and support various tasks and projects.
Interns at ICMPD work closely with the Budget and Planning Unit, supporting budget management, data analysis, and project planning. This position allows interns to learn and empowers them to actively contribute to important organizational processes, preparing them for future careers in finance and international development.
ICMPD internships provide an immersive experience with tasks that enhance financial analysis, budgeting, and planning skills.

Eligibility Criteria
Who are the ideal applicants?
- Applicants who enrolled in a finance, accounting, economics, or related degree program
- Have strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Proficient in MS Excel and relevant software
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills
- Have strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Attention to detail and independent work capability
- Knowledge of budgeting and planning principles (preferred)
- Proactive, able to follow instructions, and take initiative
- Ability to work with diverse colleagues
- Background documentation provided by ICMPD
- Fluent in English
- An intern is not considered a staff member of ICMPD.
- Non-citizen interns must obtain necessary visas.
- Interns are responsible for complying with local registration laws.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and analyzing financial data for budgets and proposals
- Conduct research and collect data related to budgeting and planning
- Compile financial reports and documents as needed
- Support maintenance and updates of budgeting tools and ERP (SAP)
- Contribute to the development of the digital budget process
- Participate in budget monitoring and variance analysis
- Help organize budget-related meetings/workshops, including drafting minutes and reports
- Collaborate with other departments for budgeting information
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
