Opportunity Description
If you are a young photographer, currently studying a photographic course or you are under the age of 24, you can apply to the 2021 Ian Parry Scholarship to win 3500 dollars and other learning opportunities.
About Ian Parry
Ian Parry was a 24-year photojournalist who died during the Romanian revolution in 1989. His scholarship is built by his family and friends to make something positive from such a tragic death.
Ian Parry scholarship details:
Ian parry scholarship is awarded annually to the winner of a photographic competition. in 2020, the scholarship is offered into two categories:
- The Sunday Times Award for Achievement
- The Canon Award for Potential
Deadline to apply: July 9th, 2021

- The winner is accepted to the final list of nominees for Joop Swart Masterclass in Amsterdam by World Press Photo
- The work will be published through Sunday Times magazine
Who can apply?
Young photographers who are:
- In their 24 years of age
- Or they are currently attending a full-time photographic course

Required documents:
- Cover letter (your name, date of birth, permanent address, personal email address, personal telephone number, and if applicable, college, course title and course tutor.)
- Project proposal (detailed): explaining the project and how the 3500 dollar award would enable you to shoot.
- Portfolio of 12 images, either a photo essay or individual photos.
