Opportunity Description
An international photo competition named Children’s Peace Images of the Year is launched for young people around the globe. This competition is part of the Global Peace Photo Award, which is inspired by the 1911 Nobel Peace Prize Laureates Alfred Fried and Tobias Asser. Anyone from around the world aged 14 or younger or photographers, in general, can submit their photos and projects individually or with groups and win 1000 euros plus a trip to Vienna, Austria, with their parents.

Awards
A total of €11,000 in cash prizes will be awarded across six categories:
- Peace Image of the Year: €7,000 + one-year exhibition in the Austrian Parliament and inclusion in its permanent art collection
- Stories Category: 3 winners, each receiving €1,000
- Single Image Category: 1 winner receives €1,000
- Children’s Peace Image of the Year: €1,000
Additionally, the winners will:
- Receive the Alfred Fried Peace Medal
- Invited to the award ceremony in Vienna (September 2025) with travel and accommodation covered.
- Selected entries may also feature in international exhibitions.
Who can take part?
- The Global Peace Photo Award is open to all photographers across the world.
- The “children’s peace of the year image” is open to submission by teenagers or children aged 14 or younger.
Selection criteria
An international jury committee will select the photographs based on their artistic merit, originality, subject, style, and content, all related to the theme of peace.
