Opportunity Description

Nominations for the Stockholm Water Prize 2027 are currently open. The Stockholm Water Prize is presented to an individual, institution, or organization that has made significant contributions, scientific or otherwise, to advancing our understanding of water resources and promoting their sustainable use and protection. These efforts must lead to improved human health and well-being and the preservation of ecosystems. Contributions may span natural sciences, engineering, technology, education, policy, and practical implementation.

Since 1991, the Stockholm Water Prize has been awarded annually to celebrate exceptional contributions in water-related fields, such as scientific research, policy, engineering, education, and practice. It recognizes academic excellence and tangible impact on the environment and society. This global award highlights the critical importance of water management and protection in addressing health, climate, and equity challenges.

The Stockholm Water Foundation, in partnership with the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, and under the patronage of H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, presents the Prize.
