Are you an aspiring documentary filmmaker with a passion for feminist issues? Do you come from the Global South and want to amplify the voices of feminist movements in your region? If so, the Global Feminist Pitch 2024 offers an opportunity to bring your vision to life. This initiative is designed to support young feminists eager to document and share the power of feminist protest cultures in their communities.

The Global Feminist Pitch 2024 aims to foster global solidarity by highlighting feminist movements through the art of documentary filmmaking. Selected participants will have the chance to create a 15-minute documentary that will be produced by Deblokada Production in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. These documentaries will not only contribute to the global feminist discourse but will also provide activists and organizations with valuable insights into how feminism is lived and experienced across different regions of the world.

Throughout the program, selected filmmakers will receive support from the Global Unit for Feminism and Gender Democracy, Deblokada Production, and industry experts. This comprehensive support system will include workshops, consultations, and feedback sessions, ensuring the filmmakers are well-equipped to produce compelling documentaries that capture the essence of feminist protest cultures.

The five winners will benefit from the program as follows:

• Honorarium: Selected filmmakers will receive an agreed-upon honorarium as compensation for their work.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet these requirements:

• Age: Must be between 25 and 35 years old.
• Regional Background: Must come from Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, or (South) Eastern Europe.
• Language Proficiency: Must have a good command of English.
• Filmmaking Experience: Must be an aspiring documentary filmmaker with relevant experience and background.
• Equipment: The necessary equipment for filming (picture and sound) must be available.
• Feminist Background: Must have experience working on feminist issues.
• Commitment: Must be willing to participate in the Global Feminist Pitch until August 2025.
