Job summary

AKES is looking for Consultant Photographers/Videographers for 4 different provinces. Eligible applicants can tread the details below and apply.

Job Description:

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • The photographer and videographer will provide photographic and video coverage, as directed by AKESA staff, of assigned consolidation classes, classes, Shura mentoring, Shura Training, Teacher mentoring, teacher training, TLC, events, meetings or other English photo/videos reportage, for immediate use on AKES website.
  • The photographer and videographer will be recruited as a contractual staff (for 25 days over two months), based in Kabul with travel to Badakhshan, Baghlan, Mazar and Kunduz to create a thorough photo gallery and audiovisual product of AKES’A response to girl’s challenge in sidelined communities. \
  • Ahead of each specific mission, detailed instructions on the expectations of coverage (e.g. the essence of the activities being carried out, the people who will be present on the ground, and whether or not they are to appear in the coverage) will be provided.
  • The photographer and videographer shall provide and submit, with the advice of AKESA staff, a selection of the best images (20 or fewer, but containing all key moments) and video files at the end of each day of work. Resize optimized images, if necessary, for transmission.

 

  • Video 1: A general video to show different components of the project including after school tutorial sessions (math, science, language and English), library enrichment program, etc., our exposure to beneficiaries, the impact of each component through (i.e. some facts and figures as a footnote or one slide within the video) and any other required information. In fact, this video will depict a short summary of our project, its beneficiates and its impacts.
  • Video 2: A short video specifically portraying the model and approach of the post-school tutorial program.
  • Files should be sent either via Wetransfer or Dropbox to a reference person that will be identified as soon as the photographer/videographer starts working.
  • Additionally, by the completion of the Assignment, the photographer and videographer will provide the entire take of all photographs and video clippings from the Assignment and a selection of roughly 300 best photographs edited and optimized in high resolution with metadata in all of the photographs. Digital originals should be shot at the highest resolution that the camera permits.
  • Each image from the optimized edit as well as the full take must include in the IPTC metadata: the full name of the photographer and videographer for photo credit, the name of the event, date, venue, and the city/country. If possible and relevant, names and titles should be included as well. IPTC metadata can be embedded into the photo through the use of image editing software such as Photoshop, Lightroom, or Photo Mechanic. In addition to required info, a descriptive caption written in complete sentences in English is compulsory. The caption should describe who, what, when, and where of the photo.

Job Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience in photographing and recording in similar projects/activities, with portfolio provided upon request;
  • High school graduate
  • Ability to produce and deliver products as per specified technical requirements;
  • Has received training on videography and photography
  • Demonstrable experience in photography and videography.
