Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a non-Chinese citizen in good physical and mental health
- Be under 35 years old for Master’s programs and under 40 years old for PhD programs
- Hold an excellent academic record
- Meet language requirements:
- Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 5 (minimum 180 points)
- English-taught programs: TOEFL 86 or IELTS 6.0 (or proof of prior English-taught degree)
Required Documents
Applicants must prepare and submit the following documents:
- Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form (generated from CSC system)
- Passport copy (valid beyond September 30, 2026)
- Notarized highest diploma (or proof of current enrollment)
- Academic transcripts (from undergraduate onward)
- Language proficiency certificates (HSK / TOEFL / IELTS, if required)
- Study proposal (minimum 1,000 words, in Chinese or English)
- Two academic recommendation letters (Professor or Associate Professor level)
- Supporting academic documents (publications, awards, research outputs – optional)
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form (valid for 6 months)
- Non-criminal record certificate (issued within the last 6 months)
