Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the International Student Excellence Scholarship, applicants must:

  • They should have a conditional or unconditional offer of admission and be enrolled full-time in an eligible program at the University of Auckland.
  • The basis of selection is academic merit, quality of the application letter, and endorsement by a referee.

  • The scholarship may not be held concurrently with certain other specific scholarships but can be held with others as long as regulations permit, and the University of Auckland Council is informed and approves.
  • The University of Auckland Council reserves the right to amend or vary the scholarship regulations.

Selection Process

  • A selection committee will check and score all applications and notify them of the outcomes around eight weeks after the deadline.
  • A Selection Committee of university representatives recommends scholarship awardees to the University of Auckland Council.
  • Awardees must accept their scholarship offer by the prescribed date to secure their scholarship.
  • Scholarship funds are credited towards compulsory fees in the first semester of study at the University of Auckland after confirmation of enrolment.
  • Awardees must be enrolled full-time for at least two semesters of study at the University of Auckland.
