In 2025, SNU (Seoul National University) will offer a range of undergraduate scholarships for international students. These scholarships will support prospective and admitted students and provide financial assistance for their education.

The following are the available scholarships at SNU for 2025:

  • Korea Government Scholarship Program (KGSP): Available for international applicants to 4-year undergraduate programs at SNU. Application period in September. Selection through embassies and the National Institute for International Education.
  • Overseas Koreans Scholarship: This scholarship is for overseas Korean students pursuing undergraduate degrees at SNU. The application period is in February/March. Selection is through embassies and the Overseas Koreans Foundation.

Overseas Koreans Scholarship:

  • Living expenses: 900,000 KRW per month for eight semesters
  • Airfare for one economy round-trip
  • Korean language training fee exemption for six months
  • Medical insurance subscription

After Admission Scholarships:

Glo-Harmony Scholarship:

  • Subsidized period: Maximum of 8 semesters
  • Full tuition exemption and 600,000 KRW per month of living expenses

Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) – Korean Government Support Program for Self-Financed Students:

  • About 6 million KRW (500,000 KRW per month)
  • Subsidized period: About 12 months

Korean War Memorial Foundation Scholarship:

  • Full tuition exemption
  • SNU subsidizes dormitory fees
  • Living expenses: 500,000 KRW per month

Eligibility Criteria

  • International applicants who wish to apply for undergraduate programs at SNU.

Overseas Koreans Scholarship:

  • International students of Korean origin aspiring to pursue undergraduate degrees at SNU are eligible for this scholarship.

  • Students from developing countries are included in the DAC list of ODA Recipients on an international scale.

Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) – for Self-Financed Students:

  • Applicable for students in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year
  • Requires an overall GPA and previous semester’s GPA of over 80 out of a possible 100

Korean War Memorial Foundation Scholarship:

  • This scholarship is for descendants of foreign war veterans who participated in the Korean War.
