Opportunity Description
The Carleton University calls for applications for the Konrad Adenauer Visiting Scholar on Transatlantic Relations position for Fall 2024. This four-month residence opportunity will occur at the Centre for European Studies at Carleton University from September to December 2024.
The position includes teaching a master’s level course on transatlantic relations with the Institute of European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (EURUS). Also, it consists of a lecture presentation on their research at a co-hosted public event.
This scholarship program is a joint initiative by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) and the Centre for European Studies (CES). The Konrad Adenauer Visiting Scholar on Transatlantic Relations is selected competitively for all candidates.
Candidates should demonstrate research knowledge of transatlantic relations. Moreover, applicants should hold a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline such as political science, economics, law, etc. A record of publications and university teaching is also necessary to apply for this opportunity.

Benefits of Scholarship
To apply for this opportunity, applicants will receive the following allowances:
- A stipend to cover travel and accommodation expenses;
- Fee for teaching;
- CES will provide advice to the visitor on finding appropriate accommodation in Ottawa;
- Moreover, the CES will manage other logistical challenges of the stay.
Eligibility for Konrad Adenauer Visiting Scholar on Transatlantic Relations?
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Candidates should demonstrate research knowledge of transatlantic relations;
- Hold a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline such as Political Science, Economics, Law, etcetera
- A record of publications and university teaching is also necessary to apply for this opportunity.
Required Documents
The following documents are necessary for the Konrad Adenauer Visiting Scholar on Transatlantic Relations:
- A letter of application describing the applicant’s interest in the position;
- A curriculum vitae (CV), including a list of scholarly publications and teaching experience;
- A brief outline of a maximum of 200 words the proposed course;
- Copy of a recent publication on a topic relating to transatlantic relations.
