  1. Academic Achievement: AUC seeks top academic performers across various high school certificates (national, international, private, public), with coverage ranging from 20% to 60%. Eligibility is based on certificate scores.
  2. International Diversity: AUC values diversity and welcomes students from over 60 countries. Outstanding academic achievers from around the world studying in Egypt are eligible for scholarships ranging from 20% to 30%. Eligibility is based on certificate scores.
  3. Egyptian National Certificates: High-achieving students in Egypt’s national degree programs (Thanawiya Amma/STEM/Nile) are considered for scholarships ranging from 20% to 40%, regardless of school attended (private, public). Eligibility is based on certificate scores.
  4. Talents: AUC recognizes excellence in sports, art, music, writing, and other fields, offering scholarships ranging from 20% to 30%.
  5. Leadership and Community Service: Applicants demonstrating impactful leadership and community engagement are eligible for 20% to 30% scholarships.
  6. Liberal Arts Majors: Top students committed to liberal arts majors such as Anthropology, Arabic Studies, Egyptology, etc., can receive scholarships ranging from 20% to 30%.

Benefits of the Excellence Scholarship Program

AUC provides a variety of competitive scholarships through the Excellence Scholarship Program. The scholarship may provide tuition coverage from 20% to 100% for the outstanding students eligible in the various categories. All scholarships are applicable annually and renewable based on the recipient’s performance at AUC.

Eligibility Criteria

American University in Cairo (AUC) ranks the students based on the scholarship category and several criteria that may Include:

  • Certificate scores of applicants;
  • Submission of supportive documents;
  • Interview required for some scholarship categories;
  • Candidates to the International Diversity category should apply as international students to AUC;
  • Transfer applicants can apply for the AUC Excellence Scholarship if they have completed less than 60 credit hours in an accredited university;
  • Meet additional AUC requirements.

Note: Applicants interested in an AUC Excellence Scholarship must check the box in the online Admission application under the Scholarship section so that the AUC will consider them for scholarships.

Necessary Documents for Undergraduate, Non-Degree, and Auditor

  • Non-refundable electronic admission evaluation fee of $50
  • Typed personal statement of 300 – 500 words
  • Copy of IELTS/TOEFL/Duolingo exam results ((Degree-seeking applicants only)
  • A computerized birth certificate and national ID card (for Egyptians only)
  • Copy of valid passport (Non-Egyptians only)
  • Schooling year evidence and copies of all results stamped from the school or the British Council (IGCSE only)
  • Official transcripts from grades 9 to 12 with cumulative GPA and copy of SAT I (code 0903) or ACT-1 (code 5303) (American Diploma and Canadian Diploma only)
  • Recommendation letters
  • Evidence of extracurricular activities

To apply for the AUC Excellence Scholarship Program, follow these steps:

  • Complete the Online Admission Application by checking the scholarship box under the scholarship section.
  • Receive the Scholarship Application Link after submitting the admission application through an email.
  • Submit the Scholarship Application.

Important Note: Applicants must check the scholarship box to be considered for an AUC Excellence Scholarship; otherwise, they won’t be considered for any AUC scholarships.
