Opportunity Description

For 2020, the Athens Photo World (APW), with the cooperation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) organize Yannis Behrakis International Photojournalism Award to support and highlight the international photojournalists and Greek. The winning project will present at the next year of the APW festival with a personal exhibition of the photographer. A global professional photographer can submit their project to compete and win the €15000  awards.

Terms and conditions:

  • Applicants can apply without any program fee.
  • Any international photographer can apply.
  • Applicant’s photographic projects must be carried out from January 2017 and December 2019.
  • Only reportage or documentary projects can be submitted.
  • 72dpi and 3000pixels on the large size, with the caption, written in English must be the format of the project.
  • The final selected applicant needs to produce the RAW image files as delivered by the camera.
  • The winner needs to provide the original file size of uploaded photos in 300 dpi.
  • Must be able to prepare a proof of professional engagement.
  • Being the authors and copyright owners of the submitted images must be guaranteed by the applicants.
  • Applicants required to give the right of using their photos for the competition promotion such as website, media, and social media to the Athens Photo World.
  • The submitted photos must be original and must not have been subject to any kind of digital manipulation.
  • The submitted images must remain the intellectual property of their creators.

  • Short biography about 1500 characters.
  • Recent Curriculum Vitae about 2000 characters in PDF format.
  • 1-99 projects.
  • 1-24 photos per project.
  • Files must be in JPG format and at least 3000 PXL

  • An accompanying text/story no longer than 250 words.
