About the course
The World Health Organization (WHO) has developed an online course to help countries and various other stakeholders and responder groups to the Covid-19 to increase their capacity to respond to Covid-19 more strongly and effectively. The course is intended to assist UN Country Teams in augmenting country preparedness and response to the pandemic. WHO has designed it as a complement to the Operational Planning Guidelines to Support Country Preparedness and Response.

Learning objectives
By completing this course learners will be able to:
- Improve their and others’ understanding of the importance of operationalizing the SPRP for the COVID-19 epidemic using the Operational Planning Guidelines
- Explain the 8 primary pillars of public health preparedness and response and preliminary actions to be taken by the UN country teams
- access the full series of actions, performance indicators and resources required to conduct the preparedness level assessment using the COVID-19 Partners Platform for country preparedness and response plans

It consists of three modules and introduces the context for the need for a coordinated and concerted global response to COVID-19:

3th: Pillars of the public health response:
