The Program in Latin American Studies (PLAS) at Princeton University is inviting applications for its short-term Visiting Fellowships for the 2026–2027 academic year.

This prestigious opportunity is designed for advanced or mid-career scholars from any discipline, as well as established Latin American writers, artists, filmmakers, or architects, to conduct focused research or creative projects in Princeton’s inspiring intellectual community. Eligibility Criteria

  • The application is open to advanced or mid-career scholars from any discipline and any nationality.
  • They must focus on Latin America, Brazil, or the Caribbean
  • Applicants can be established Latin American writers, artists, filmmakers, or architects working on research or creative projects
  • Applicants from the humanities, social sciences, or creative arts are also welcome
  • They must have the ability to participate in person at Princeton University for the duration of the fellowship

    • Proposed month of stay
    • Title and short description of the proposed project
    • Reasons for choosing Princeton University (library, archives, faculty, etc.)
  • Curriculum Vitae (in English)
  • Project Statement (in English, 1,000–1,500 words) detailing:
    • Research or creative project
    • How Princeton’s resources and faculty will support the work
  • Names and Contact Information of Two Referees
